BOSS LOOKS TO MAINTAIN MOMENTUM
Town are hoping to go in next week's international break on a high with a win over Bristol City at Portman Road.
Roy Keane's side are unbeaten in their first five games of the campaign and have chalked up four away wins in that run, the first time that has been achieved in the Club's history.
Victory over Crystal Palace last weekend left Town in fifth place in the Championship and while not concerned with the table at the moment, the boss wants to maintain the momentum going into the two week break.
"Momentum is an important factor in any sport and obviously we want to keep that going as long as possible," the Town boss told the Club website.
"We are going into the international break and it's probably come at a decent time for us.
"We have used a lot of the same players in our five matches, so for that reason and the travelling we have had, the break is probably not a bad thing for us.
"It will give the players a chance to recharge their batteries, especially the younger ones who have played more football than perhaps we would have liked at this stage.
"The downside of the break is that we have players going away and we hope they come back clear of injury."
Bristol will include new boys Jon Stead, who joined from Town, and Brett Pitman in their squad after the duo arrived at Ashton Gate this week.
The club have had a colourful last few weeks with England 'keeper David James joining them. Manager Steve Coppell resigned though inside the first week of the campaign with Keith Millen taking over.
"We know we are in for a tough game," adds Roy. "They have brought in two new strikers. We will know all about Steady of course and they will add to their attacking edge.
"We drew with them twice last season, games we could have won but didn't. That was the story of our season of course.
"They've had a few changes lately but they are a good side. We have to be at our best to win football matches and if we are at our best against Bristol, then we have a chance. If we're not, then there's every likelihood we will get beat."
Town will be missing injured trio - Mark Kennedy, Connor Wickham and Damien Delaney while Bristol have concerns over Jamal Campbell-Ryce.
Kick-off at Portman Road is 3.00pm, with live commentary on Ipswich Player. Subscribers to the service can also watch a full match preview of the game later today in the Kick Off show, which includes a full interview with Roy.
